LIVING DIVANI Designer Furniture | Perfect, harmonious proportions and a feeling of understated luxury: these are the distinguishing features of Living Divani, the dynamic and vibrant family-owned company, that has made its trademark of upholstery.

Since the early 1970s, the company has followed a clear path, maintaining an intensive dialogue with the contemporary world and becoming one of the landmarks in the design landscape. Strategic is the alliance with Piero Lissoni: since 1988 he has led the firm’s unique style in his dual role as art director and designer.

Living Divani collaborates with personalities such as Shiro Kuramata, Francesco Rota, Arik Levy, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Junya Ishigami, Harry&Camila, Nathan Yong, who all share the company’s style and approach to design.
Over the years Living Divani has developed a vast and varied offer in a gradual process of creation of a complete living environment, which revolves around the upholstery system, with its subtle shapes and proportions, to ombine with characterful complements – seats, armchairs, beds, tables, bookcases and carpets and an outdoor collection – that will suit and define any setting, from the essential and rigorous to the multifarious and eclectic décor.

Important acknowledgement of the path of excellence of Living Divani is its entry in 2012 in Altagamma, the foundation that gathers Italian companies of international repute, which operate at the top end of the market, which express the culture and the Italian style in the management business and the product and that are characterized by innovation, quality, service, design and prestige.

Living Divani’s headquarters in Anzano del Parco, province of Como, is a two-storey building providing a total of 1140 square metres of floor space, contiguous to the production implant of 11.000 square metres. It fits seamlessly into the surrounding environment, in which light plays a major role. The building was designed by Piero Lissoni to express the spirit of the company, its philosophy and its approach to design, which have combined to make it a benchmark in the international upholstery scene.
A transparent, horizontal block, a box of light, wrapped in a double skin of glass – u-glass plates with panes behind them – which, as if keeping a beat, mark out the rhythm of the sun’s daily path across the sky, designing new relations between interior and exterior, public and private.
The structure is made of exposed galvanized steel in natural and white-tinted hues, painted using eco-friendly, photocatalytic paints to minimise pollution.
The building’s two levels are interrupted by interior courtyards created artificially.
The interior space flows uninterrupted, in a telescope-like perspective that offers an unimpeded view, with transparent glass walls modulating volumes, so that the detachment between different parts of the building fades away.
The ground floor is dedicated to office space, whilst the ethereal and neutral upper floor provides a backdrop for the Living Divani collections.

Sophisticated and quality materials, coordination and compositions are standard features of Living Divani collections. All the components of every item are made from top-quality materials, with precision manufacture and upholstery diversified according to needs for maximum comfort. The types of wood and metal are chosen and processed to ensure aesthetics, mechanical performance, stability, support, flexibility and strength. The toughened glass of the small table tops is designed for maximum safety.
For these reasons Living Divani products have a 10-year warranty for structural parts and a 5-year one for the upholstery.

Manufacture and Production
The items in the Living Divani catalogue are the outcome of a perfect balance between technological innovation and craft skills. Production complexities are handled perfectly within the company and highly qualified staff and cutting-edge machinery solve all production-related problems, from the simplest to the most complex. Thorough checks are performed after each production phase.

The fabrics are meticulously checked to eliminate any faults and are sent for cutting. All the cutting patterns are entered into a computer system which guarantees their perfect uniformity.

The various cuts are then grouped together for single products and sent to the sewing department, where the finishes are handled by highly specialised staff.

In the assembly department the product takes on its final appearance and undergoes a final meticulous check before being sent to the despatch area. A warranty is enclosed with each product with all information and advice on care and maintenance in order to ensure greater durability.
