Christian Liaigre is a great admirer of Spanish culture and it is in Spain that you can find some of his most beautiful projects. The Puerta America Hotel in Madrid was his first public project in collaboration with other architects. Each one of them has contributed with their own particular style and Christian Liaigre is most enthusiastic to see the result of a collaboration with big name contemporary designers.
Christian Liaigre has adopted a present day vision of the Spanish capital. He has integrated graphic landmarks from various Spanish regions such as Andalusia, Galicia and Catalonia. We can find ceramic ornaments, arabesques in forged iron and embroideries that adorn bull fighters’ jackets. Such different sources of inspiration have been carefully worked out and brought into the project.
The company manufactures its pieces according to an artisanal method of production for its line of fureniture and lighting. All of their furniture is embossed with their stamp <CL>
Each designer had “carte blanche”. This is probably what gives the hotel such a mosaic of talent. They taken the opportunity to do a totally Spanish restaurant as he likes.
