a collection of social tables
san fransisco-based industrial design studio mike & maaike introduces ‘haven’, a collection of social tables formed to bring people together intentionally and purposefully. produced by watson furniture, the series provides a variety of items that can correspond to a wide range of needs and scenarios, from offices to airports, lobbies, and cafés.
all pieces are made possible by the modular integrity frame, a minimal steel structure with surprising strength and visual lightness. in addition, in most tables there is the option to add planters, floating trays, as well as a ‘neighborhood’ dimmable light, to generate a pleasant and atmospheric work environment.

inviting, adaptable, and simple
in haven by mike &maaike (see more here), rounded tabletops encourage inclusivity and group-oriented decision making. the collection’s soft corners and circular shapes invite users to collaborate and share their ideas around the table. standing height and high-low tables invite serendipitous team interactions, while inviting touchpoints reveal moveable table surfaces, adjustable lighting, integrated charging, and a footbar allowing all heights to rest comfortably.
each piece is designed for multiple work modes and settings to fit the needs of many users and preferences throughout the day, month, year, or decade. each table is distilled to its essence, serving its function quietly and intentionally. the distinctive leg profile features a flat front face that blends well with any architecture and a rounded back that softens spaces, giving the collection a light and friendly character.
designed to fit in any setting
the haven high low tables combine two heights allowing people to choose the setting to match the occasion: high for quick, casual interactions, low for seated worksessions. the high side is easily rotatable, allowing it to be configured on the fly to best fit the needs of the moment. meanwhile, the haven laptop lounge provides a comfortable laptop surface for sofas or chairs. the narrow base fits between chair legs while the generous surface has room for a mouse or a coffee. in addition, the media panel can turn any haven table into a video conferencing pod. the fabric-covered privacy screen comes in a circle or square and looks great from any angle, for freestanding or wall applications.
the NAF (no added formaldehyde) substrate used in the haven desks and storage components is 92% recycled industrial by-product from milling operations. the cold-rolled steel used in table bases and brackets is created from recycled auto parts, and all of the steel is 100% recyclable. the GREENGUARD-certified laminates are composed of phenolic resin and kraft paper and contain 22% recycled content. the reclaimed sawdust is compressed into briquettes and used for biofuel. watson uses only nontoxic, water-based adhesives that emit low to no VOCs. all watson edge banding is made from poly-propylene, and forbo furniture linoleum used on our surfaces is made of renewable linseed oil and recycled sawdust.
